 Gosport Solent Brass provides brass music to the Solent area. It is available for local concerts and civic events and more details about hiring the band can be found here.
 

GOSPORT SOLENT YOUTH BAND

We worked hard to form a training band and were providing free instrument loan and musical tuition every Sunday morning to a group of children aged 10+. Unfortunately we had to wind down the youth band due to the Coronavirus pandemic but hope to restart it again in the future.

 

 

 

SENIOR BAND

Community Band

The community band consists of competent players of varied ages and abilities (entry standard is roughly in line with grade 4) and less experienced players are encouraged to learn and sit alongside our more experienced players in order to improve their ensemble playing.

We aim to allow as many of the players of the community band to take part in as many concerts and engagements Gosport Solent Brass performs. 

If you are interested in joining GSB Community Band this is what we look for :-

  • Playing at roughly a grade 4 standard or equivalent. This is just a guide for the band and no awarded grade is required.

  • The ability to play as part of an ensemble. (We really value balanced and blended playing! )

  • A sense of team work and good attendance.

 Contesting Band

The contesting band comprises the more able players of the community band and takes part in various competitions over the course of the year. We represent the West of England Region within the National Brass Band Championships and have had great success in recent years such that we are now competing in the Second Section.
